Event Strategies Network

Sarah Allen and I have been in constant dialogue about the ever-changing events ecosystem for nearly a decade. It has been a continuous topic that threads through our friendship. Whether discussing new formats, from unconferences to hyper-scheduled to slow convening, sharing experiences of new technology or event platforms, or celebrating what we learnt from peer events, we recognise how vital learning from peers working in diverse contexts is. And inspiring.

This encouraged us to convene a network of practitioners seeking ways to expand experiences and build benefits central to strengthening participants’ abilities to reach their social change goals.

If you are an event designer, manager, producer, or enthusiast keen to share your experiences, learn about new approaches, and connect with others on a similar journey, join us. We aim to meet quarterly to learn and be inspired by one another.

To receive notice about convenings, join the discussion and ask questions, sign up for our Event Strategy discussion list here: https://lists.ghserv.net/mailman/listinfo/eventstrategy

Drawing from discussions The Event Strategies Network held during three sessions in March and April of 2025, we drafted a resource, Creating Safe Space: Insights and Practical Steps which explores confidence, practical strategies, and ongoing challenges in fostering environments where everyone feels secure, respected, and empowered to participate.
